Born and raised in Taiwan, my father was the pastor of Taiwan Conservative Baptist Church, and because I saw how hard my father worked in the church, I made a vow from a young age to never become a pastor. As a young man, I left the faith to find my purpose in the world, but my life went downhill as I entered the wilderness of life.

Because of God's abundant mercy, I was lifted up from the mud and called to study at Taiwan Baptist Theological Seminary for a Master's degree in Theology and Divinity. After graduating from seminary in 2006, I went to Chiayi, Taiwan with missionaries to start a church. In 2021, in obedience to God's will (with many struggles and challenges), we came to serve as pastors at Chinese Faith Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon.

My family enjoys being in nature because it is a wonderful glimpse into God's creation and not only restores the mind and body, but also humbles one before the Creator.

As we continue to get to know the city of Portland and each member of the church, it has been an interesting journey to see people, things, and events that are completely different from the culture in Taiwan. We believe that God has good intentions in leading us to Portland and we are willing to submit and use the gifts He has given us to accomplish His will. We look forward to serving the Chinese community in the Portland area through the power of God with our brothers and sisters, and leading more Chinese to know the Lord who created the universe.

Words from the Pastor

I have a dream in my heart! I want to bring people back into God's network of love in a generation full of chaos, alienated relationships, and broken families. I believe that God creates marriages, builds families, and cultivate community. Only through the touch of God's powerful love can people regain their confidence and restore their relationship with God and others. I desire to make the church a spiritual home where people can grow and rest in body, mind, and spirit, and where family relationships can be healed and restored by God's abundant touch of love.

Dear friends, on behalf of CFBC Portland, I would like to welcome you to join us and give yourself a chance to have your life turned around.

在台灣出生及長大，父親是台灣浸信宣道會的牧師，因為看到父親在教會服事的辛苦，從小就立下心願絕對不當牧師。青年時期一度離開信仰在世上找尋自己人生的目標，卻讓自己的生命走向下坡，進入生命的曠野時期。

因著上帝豐盛的憐憫，將我從爛泥中舉起，呼召就讀台灣浸信宣道會神學院神學系及道學碩士，從此生命產生極大的改變。上帝更賜予美滿的家庭，師母林惠鈴是上帝放在我生命中最重要也最美好的另一半，她是一位委身於禱告且溫暖善於聆聽的師母，服事教會的姊妹屬靈生命建立，還有兩個兒子也一同參與事奉。2006年神學院畢業後與宣教士一同前往台灣嘉義開拓教會。2010年經台灣浸信宣道會聯合會按立為牧師。2021年因著順服上帝的旨意(過程有許多的掙扎與挑戰)來到中誠浸信會擔任牧師。

我們全家都喜歡親近大自然，因為可以在大自然中一窺上帝美妙創造，不單單能讓身心得著全然的修復更能使人在造物主面前謙卑下來，在奧勒岡和華盛頓州有很多壯麗的自然景觀，也是我們期待造訪的。

我們還在繼續認識波特蘭和教會每一位成員的過程，這是一個很有意思的旅程，可以看到與台灣完全不同的人、事、物。我們相信上帝引導我們到波特蘭有祂美好的心意，我們願意順服並且發揮祂所賜給我們的恩賜完成祂對我們的旨意。期待可以透過上帝的大能與弟兄姊妹一起服事在波特蘭地區的華人，帶領更多的華人可以認識這位創造宇宙萬物的主宰。

我心中有一個夢想！我希望在這個充滿混亂、關係疏離、家庭破碎的世代中，使人可以重回上帝與人愛的網絡裡。我相信上帝創造婚姻、建立家庭、產生社會關係。唯有透過上帝大能愛的觸摸，可以使人重新建立自信，與神和人都能恢復關係。我渴望讓教會成為屬靈的家，讓人能夠在這裡身、心、靈可以成長和安息；家庭的關係能夠因著上帝豐盛的愛的觸摸得到更好的醫治和恢復。

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I came to know Jesus as my personal savior while earning my Master’s Degree in Science at the University of Salford Manchester, United Kingdom.  I was later baptized at the First Baptist Church of Manchester.  God then brought me to New York, where God called me into full-time pastoral ministry.  There, I met and married my wife, Soo-Ping.  Together, we moved to Oregon, where I earned a Master’s Degree in Divinity at Western Conservative Baptist Seminary.

Here in Oregon, I found my home at Chinese Faith Baptist Church.  In the last 20+ years, I have served in various leadership positions at Chinese Faith Baptist Church.  In 2011, in the face of the growing needs for pastoral care among the congregation, the church called and licensed me to serve as its Pastor of Pastoral Care Ministries. I have continued to care for the needs of the church, and have enjoyed the unique opportunities God has given me to plant seeds and harvest souls for the Kingdom of God.  I am passionate about sharing the Gospel with others.  My wife, Soo-Ping, plays an integral role in my ministry, whether as my prayer partner or co-counsel during visitations and marital counseling.  

In my spare time, I enjoy eating out and trying new foods with my family and friends.  When time permits, I enjoy watching a good action movie as well.

我在香港出生和成長。在英國德曼徹斯特市索爾福大學攻讀理科碩士學位時，認識了耶穌，並且接受祂作為我個人的救主。後來在英國曼徹斯特市第一浸禮會，我接受了洗禮。其後，神帶領我來到美國的紐約市，呼召我作為專職牧養事工。在那裡，我遇見了素萍，並娶她為妻。我們就一起搬到俄勒岡州，後來，我在西方保守浸信會神學院獲得了神學碩士學位。

在俄勒岡州，我在中誠浸信會找到了我在信仰上的家。在過去二十多年裡，我曾在中誠浸信會各種的領導職務上都有事奉。 2011年，在教會的關懷會眾事項上，和在日益增加的需求之下，教會請求我去擔任教牧關懷部的傳道，並為我領取了執照。自此之後，我繼續負責教會關心會眾的需要，並享受神所賜給予我這獨特的機會，為神的事工去撒播福音的種子，且為神的國度去收割失喪的靈魂。我熱衷於與他人分享福音，在傳道的事工上，我的妻子素萍，無論是在禱告夥伴，或在探訪和婚姻輔導上，都扮演了不可或缺的角色。

在我空餘的時間，我喜歡與家人和朋友外出用餐，並品嘗新的食物，若時間許可，我亦喜歡欣賞一些好的動作影片。
